Mini Mosaics exchange (formerly known as Artist Trading Cards) are back! The theme for the July 19th Zoom meeting is RAINBOW.
For those of you who don’t know, MSoP has been enjoying Mini Mosaics as a fun way for participants to make a small mosaic to be randomly exchanged with another member who has also made one. This exchange has been an eagerly anticipated portion of the Member’s Meetings for a long time.
Mini Mosaics are any small size such as 2 x 3, 3 x 3, or 3 x 5 inches. They can be square, round, rectangular, or any other shape. Anything and everything has been used to make Mini Mosaics: tile, rocks, glass, beads, shrink art, buttons, found objects, and jewelry, just to name a few.
Although each MSoP meeting has a theme for the Mini Mosaic to jump start ideas, any small mosaic is acceptable to participate.
Of course we will not be able to do the physical exchange at the meeting so after displaying your Mini Mosaic during our virtual meeting you will exchange your creation by mail to the individual whose name you are provided. Isn’t it fun to receive something in the mail?
To participate email your name and mailing address to Carol Rydel at hippiechicktiles@gmail.com. Carol will create a list of all participants. During our virtual meeting you will get a chance to show off your Mini Mosaic. Afterwards, Carol will then email each participant the name and address of their randomly assigned recipient. As soon as participants receive the name and address of their recipient, they can mail the Mini Mosaic to them and look forward to getting one themselves! (Estimated mailing costs of a well wrapped Mini Mosaic in a bubble wrap envelope are about $7.00)
What to do:
1. Make a Mini Mosaic with a RAINBOW theme.
2. Email Carol Rydel at hippiechicktiles@gmail.com with your name and mailing
address by the morning of Sunday, July 19.
3. Show your Mini Mosaic during the MSoP virtual meeting on July 19th
3. Upon receipt of an email from Carol Rydel with the name and address of your
recipient mail the Mini Mosaic to them.
4. Wait for your Mini Mosaic to arrive.
5. Unwrap your Mini Mosaic and love it!
