Mission Statement

The Mosaic Society of Philadelphia enthusiastically promotes mosaic art in the Philadelphia area.

Vision Statement

From its inception, the Mosaic Society of Philadelphia has envisioned building a wide and diverse community of those who love, create and support mosaics. We strive to welcome with open arms all who embrace mosaics.
MSoP affirms our commitment to values that oppose racism, and we will make every effort to ensure that this commitment is present in MSoP policies, programs, and practices.  We insist on a culture of respect and recognize that words and actions matter as does the lack of appropriate action.  MSoP pledges to encourage respectful expression of ideas and perspectives and to redouble our efforts for broader inclusion.

A little about us...

The Mosaic Society of Philadelphia (MSoP) began as a conversation during the Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) Conference in Austin, TX in 2011. A group of dedicated mosaicists and mosaic lovers dreamed of a forum for mosaic artists in the Philadelphia area. Their dream became a reality and we had our first meeting in June 2011.This small group evolved into the Board of Directors and soon after became a  501(c)(3) non-profit.  The Society has since grown in membership, developed an active Facebook page for information sharing, hosted workshops with nationally renowned artists and was the host city for SAMA 2015 conference right here in Philadelphia!  We have meeting every other month Starting in September and during that time have educational components, a mini-salon to share our artwork, an Artist Trading Card exchange and so much more.  We are excited about the fantastic growth that has occurred so quickly and are pleased that so many friendships have been created within this wonderful creative community.

We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting or event and hope you will consider becoming a member! Let’s break something together!
