Renowned artist Muhsana Ali will teach reverse glass painting for mosaic. This process allows for the creation of custom images and words within the mosaic. The painted glass and found objects will then be incorporated into each participant’s 18 X 24 mosaic. This is a unique opportunity to learn an alternative mosaic technique used around the world from a Master.
Muhsana Ali is an international visual artist who resides in Senegal. She holds a BFA degree and a MA in art education. She studied at Parsons School of Design (NYC), University of the Arts (Philadelphia), PA Academy of the Fine Arts, (Philadelphia), The American College in Paris (Paris, France) and the L’Universite de St. Denis (France). Philly-born Ali works in mosaic, reverse glass painting, and printmaking among others with her non-profit organization, Portes et Passages du Retour, which brings art to the rural populations in Senegal. One of Ali’s large scale mosaic installations resides in the Penn Museum’s African Art Exhibit.
